While many zoos do an excellent job of caring for wild animals and contributing to their conservation, there are some species, like elephants, which will always be unsuited to zoo environments.

    All the trees you see within the yard are cordoned off with electrified wires. The elephants have no access to live trees within their yard. Foraging is the most natural behavior of elephants. They forage up to 20 hours a day in the wild. Just because Bamboo, Chai and Watoto find themselves in a zoo doesn’t make them different from their wild counterparts.
